HRD Planning for Tourism
A key success factor in the development of a competitive tourism destination is the quality of service provided by its front-line tourism staff. The right hosting attitudes and quality of service elements do not arise of themselves but must be consciously developed in the framework of a longer-term human resources development (HRD) strategy, and short to medium term action plans and programmes.
APPI has drawn up human resource development (HRD) plans and human resource supply and demand forecasts for tourism bureaus; national tourism organizations; local destinations; and for hotels/integrated resort projects. Very recently, APPI crafted the Human Resource Development Plan for the Tourism Industry in Bohol in Partnership with the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd).
